This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Tickets for this Parapan American Open ARE FREE. To get to know the next Parapan American champions, all you have to do is request your ticket at the ticket booth, but remember, seats are limited. One ticket covers all the events held that day.

All these events are divided according to the impairment classification of the Para athletes. Para athletes are classified into three main groups:

PHYSICAL IMPAIRMENT

Based on the degree of complexity, it may be due to short stature, a spine injury, one or more amputations, or partial or full paralysis of a body region.

INTELLECTUAL IMPAIRMENT

Based on the degree of difficulty regarding recognition, sequencing, pattern memorization, intelligence quotient of 75 points or less, or limitations in conceptual, social and practical adaptive behaviors.

VISUAL IMPAIRMENT

Based on the degree of vision, they may see blurry, shadows or nothing at all.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS

Over 100 Para athletes will participate in this Open tournament. Joining them will be two of the most awarded Cuban medalists at the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games.

  • Leinier Savón, who specializes in long jump and 100 m and 200 m races.
  • Leonardo Díaz Aldana, who specializes in discus, javelin and shot put throw.
