STARS AT LIMA 2019: GET TO KNOW ANA GALLAY AND BRUNA WURTS

Our courts, tracks and fields of play have hosted top-level athletes! Get to know two of them a little more: Ana Gallay and Bruna Wurts. Get inspired with these two South American medalists of Beach Volleyball and Artistic Skating.

Ana Gallay and her duo Fernanda Pereyra collected the medal silver in beach volleyball. This is her third Pan American Games and, with this, now she has 20 medals: eight golds, four silvers and eight bronzes.

How do you get so successful? Ana told us that there is no trick to be “Ana Gallay.” For example, she gets up very early every day, she trains four or five hours a day and she is simply a sports fan. Loving what you do 100% is her main advice.

She also told us that being a medalist is a source of pride, in every sense of the word.

Bruna Wurtsfor her part, won the gold at these games. In this way, she became the current artistic skating Pan American champion.

Bruna is Brazilian but lives in Spain. At just 18, she became the first Brazilian to win the South American Games (ODESUR) last year. She also won the German Cup and became the third in the world.

The most important for her is to do her own thing and be satisfied. She also told us that it is hard to believe she has won so much because all those years and months of training serve to demonstrate what you know in just two or four minutes. Those adrenaline-filled minutes are critical. That is why Bruna considers that recognition is essential because that motivates you to move forward.

To become like Bruna, it is necessary to come back down to earth and improve. These are her three key things: Look up to those who have already achieved everything and keep growing to be equal or better, be objective and focused every day, and do not stop until getting what you want to achieve.

Inspired? Follow each medalist and motivate yourself to be, why not, the next champion of the Americas. Nothing can stop you!
