Arturo 'Zambo' Cavero junto con Óscar Aviles (Fuente: Andina)

Of course, Contigo Perú by renowned "Zambo" Cavero, was supposed to open this playlist...  It is almost a national anthem! Another must is Let’s All Play, the song composed by renowned Pedro Suárez-Vértiz especially for the Lima 2019 Games.

After some criollo and African-Peruvian music by Eva Ayllón, Pepe Vásquez, and Los Ardiles, we will listen to some fusion music. This genre mixes the music from the Peruvian Andes and Jungle with a contemporary style. In other words, a mix of what it means to be Peruvian with a good chance of making you want to dance.
We recommend Jacarandá by Olaya Sound System or the well-known version of Cariñito by La Sarita (formerly Los Hijos del Sol).
If this was not enough, Liberato Kani will amaze you for sure with Kaykunapi, a rap song in Quechua. Highly recommended!

Then, we will listen to a little bit of Peruvian rock, which includes the hits from the ‘80s to the present day. Bands such as Frágil, Los Mojarras, Miki Gonzalez, Mar de Copas, Campo de Almas and Los Nosequién are just a few examples.

Finally, this playlist also includes a brief collection of young Peruvian bands, which are starting to be recognized, such as: Tourista, Clara Yolks, Los Outsiders, 16 Bits or Teniente Cooper.
Our country is home of talented musicians and tourists should listen to them.
