A Difficult Path:

However, as in any swimming competitions, some events are surprisingly tough and the only thing left to do is work even harder. Early this year, having just turned 30,

Nathan Adrian shared on social media that he had been diagnosed with testicular cancer. He then underwent surgery and, fortunately, emerged victorious. Nathan says that facing this experience has changed his outlook on life. He now feels compelled to warn young people about the importance of testicular cancer prevention. This is why he has been so open about his treatment and progress on Instagram account .

Return to Swimming and World Competitions:

Something else he learned from this ordeal is that he now has a new opportunity to continue giving his best in the pool and become one of the world’s best.

This is why, after rigorous training under the watchful eye of his doctors, Nathan returned to world-class competitions with the U.S. swimming team in mid-May. Now he is aiming for the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, where he expects to get the coveted gold medal and earn his place at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Nathan Adrian is definitely a world-class athlete, always ready to overcome any challenge in the pool and in life.
