PRESIDENT VIZCARRA: “THE LIMA 2019 GAMES FILL PERUVIANS WITH PRIDE”

In a message to the nation delivered at the Peruvian Congress, the Head of State of Peru said that 175,000 tourists arrived in Peru for the most important sports event of the Americas.

President of Peru, Martín Vizcarra, stated that Lima 2019 is positively changing the way sports events are delivered, enjoyed and organized in Peru.

Lima 2019 has mobilized Peruvians in a way never seen before. They have worked together to successfully carry out the biggest sports event ever held in Peru,” assured in his speech for Peruvian National Holidays.

He mentioned that the Games are an event that fill Peruvians with pride and that the Americas are enjoying this great sports and cultural celebration

"Imagine if we had listened to negative people. Imagine if we had listened to the detractors,” highlighted in his message to the nation at the Peruvian Congress.

One hundred and seventy-five thousand tourists

He reported that Peru is currently home to 175,000 tourists who have arrived to enjoy the competitions of the most important sports event of the continent, an event surpassed only by the Olympic Games.

“Let's welcome all our visitors with the best of us. Let's be the best hosts of the world,” encouraged.

Finally, on behalf of all Peruvians, the President congratulated and thanked all athletes who give their best for Peru. He specially acknowledged Gladys Tejeda, Cristhian Pacheco and Diego Elías.
